Well another year has come and gone, and gone,
and gone...where'd they all go?
Wasn't 2005 quite the year? So much happened, it was almost daily.
From floods to earthquakes, from stock market crashes to political
corruption.
I felt in my heart last year to pray for peace.
And I can see why now. So much unrest, the war, gas prices going up and
down, jobs lost, jobs found, newer car, old friends die and I could go
on.
This year I feel in my heart (not that things
revolve around me or the calendar year) but to pray for joy. Joy meaning
happiness and peace that comes from stability. I hope it doesn't mean
pray for joy because of the insurmountable sorrows that might befall us.
But in these days of political correctness,
minority rights (we are all the same - everyone's blood is red, and we
pee yellow), and discrepancy between the hard working fellow and some
sports figure making millions while we look at prices going up all over,
it is nice to know some things don't change.
But joy is not a feeling, it's an attitude. I'm
not talking about new age stuff, or self-hypnosis, or ignoring the
facts, but how one approaches things makes a world of difference.
There is nothing new under the sun I believe it
says in Proverbs or Ecclesiastes, which means in these days of chaos
there is a solid foundation we can build on. And that is the love of
God, who sent His Son, Jesus to die for your sins.
Receive Jesus now
simply by asking for this joy in your own words.
And let this year, 2006, be one of happiness!
cheers
