Part 2: From Promise to Final Reality

How the seven promises made to the overcomers in Revelation 2 & 3 are literally fulfilled in the closing chapters of the book.

Church The Promise (Chapters 2-3) The Ultimate Fulfillment (Chapters 19-22)
Ephesus The Tree of Life (Rev. 2:7)
"...will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."
Rev. 22:2 & 14
The Tree of Life stands in the middle of the New Jerusalem, and those who do His commandments have the literal right to eat from it.
Smyrna The Second Death (Rev. 2:11)
"...shall not be hurt of the second death."
Rev. 20:6 & 21:8
Over those who take part in the First Resurrection, the Second Death (the Lake of Fire) has absolute zero power or authority.
Pergamos Hidden Manna & White Stone (Rev. 2:17)
"...will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written..."
Rev. 19:12 & 22:4
Christ returns with a hidden name written that no man knows but Himself, and the overcomers receive His name directly on their foreheads.
Thyatira Power & The Morning Star (Rev. 2:26, 28)
"...will I give power over the nations... And I will give him the morning star."
Rev. 20:4 & 22:16
The overcomers are given authority to reign over the nations with Christ for 1,000 years, intimately joined to Jesus, who is "the bright and morning star."
Sardis White Raiment & Book of Life (Rev. 3:5)
"...shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not cheat or blot his name out of the book of life..."
Rev. 19:14 & 21:27
The returning armies follow Christ on white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. Only those written in the Lamb’s Book of Life enter the city.
Philadelphia Pillar in the Temple (Rev. 3:12)
"...will I make a pillar in the temple of my God... and I will write upon him the name of my God..."
Rev. 21:22 & 22:4
The New Jerusalem has no physical temple building, because God and the Lamb *are* its temple. The overcomers are securely fixed in that presence forever.
Laodicea Sit Upon the Throne (Rev. 3:21)
"...will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame..."
Rev. 20:4 & 22:3
Thrones are established for the overcomers to execute judgment alongside Christ during the Millennium, extending right into the eternal state.
